Access Control Technician at Williston

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

Works with general supervision of the assigned Project Manager, or other designated positions to prepare and install access control and CCTV surveillance systems.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Installation and routine maintenance of access control and CCTV surveillance devices/equipment.
• Installation and/or modification of door frames for the required electrified operation including electrified panic bars or electric strikes.
• Programming or configuration of multiple access control platforms for the specified operation of the doors, card readers, badging systems and operator display.
• Programming or configuration of multiple CCTV digital video recorders or IP based network video recorders/servers.
• Removes and rearranges equipment at on-site locations.
• Tests, adjusts and troubleshoots equipment.
• Provides appropriate customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements.
• Proactively work in a safe manner in the context of performing the function of the position.
• Transports materials to work-site.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to support access control and CCTV installation document creation including as-builts, design schematics, material schedules, submittals and commissioning closeout documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

 Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years in related field.
• 1-2 years experience installing and servicing access control systems.
• 1 year performing equipment troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance for Access Control systems and/or CCTV systems
• Applicants must have a current drivers license with a good driving record.
• Capable of working effectively with co-workers and fulfill customer requests.
• Candidate must be self motivated and flexible with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• General knowledge of Carpentry.
• General knowledge of computer functionality and basic networking.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs and use ladders.
• Able to work in close spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, mechanical rooms, etc.
• Ability to bend and reach.
