Grants Management Specialist at Montpelier

 The Vermont Economic Progress Council is seeking a Grants Management Specialist. Take on a challenge and put your grants management experience to use providing oversight, monitoring, and compliance review for two state economic and community development programs. You will be part of a small team responsible for evaluating municipal compliance against statute, rules and approved plans for Tax Increment Financing Districts. Also responsible for customer service and system maintenance for the Vermont Employment Growth Incentive program. Additionally, provide board management for the Vermont Economic Progress Council, who oversees these programs. You must be efficient with quality control, organization, and communication skills. You should be a self-driven individual with strong analytical skills.

 Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in government program oversight, monitoring, reporting, and compliance review, municipal infrastructure project management, grants management, and/or related community or economic development experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  • Previous program experience with online grants management systems. 
  • General knowledge of or experience with board management.
  • Experience with annual report preparation.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Efficient with quality control, organization and communication skills.
  • Must show leadership capability and ability to work independently

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree with course work in financial management, grants administration or program evaluation.
  • Three years at a professional level in accounting, financial auditing work, grants administration, or in a role with responsibility for management of financial affairs, or a governmental accounting system.
  • Note: Graduate degree in business or public administration may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional years of experience as defined above may substitute for the Bachelor’s Degree on a six months for semester basis.
