Basic Qualifications :
- Possession of a valid State Operator Vehicle License. A copy of the license must be provided along with a current driving record from Department of Motor Vehicles. Must pass required physical/emotional stability medical examination.
- Possession of a Commercial Class B license with air brake endorsement ( Copy will need to be submitted with application package).
Duties: Incumbent be assigned to operate all vehicles including the emergency response medical coach, sedans, station wagons, mini and full size vans including wheel chair vans and shuttle vans, (gross vehicle weight may exceed 26,000 lbs), 2 and 4 wheel drive pick-ups, up to and including 1.5 ton. Also, other vehicles and maintenance type equipment (i.e., tractors, mowers, loader, dump truck, and utility vehicles such as mini trucks, Jitneys, snow blowers and other equipment as required). Transports patients by either wheelchair van or other motor vehicles. Will assist medical technicians in treating patients. When transporting patients without medical technician support and a patient has a medical emergency, will take appropriate action to maintain and/or protect patients life. Will operate equipment having power take offs, snowplows, salt spreaders, and other specialized motor vehicle equipment. Makes, as assigned, daily mail, trash, supply and purchase order pickups and deliveries to local vendors and/or other facilities as required. In some cases, will pick up and handle cash for Agent Cashier use. Maintains the cleanliness of vehicles following service policies especially after using for transporting patients. Will perform minor maintenance on all vehicles and equipment assigned. Adheres to all Federal. State and local traffic laws and ordinances. Performs lawn care duties as assigned. Performs snow removal duties as necessary to maintain emergency access to this facility using appropriate snow removal equipment. Wears and maintains all assigned personal protective equipment including vehicle safety equipment. Driver must be knowledgeable if basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques to assist patients and/or medical personnel in emergency situations. Must be trained in the use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). Operates the emergency response medical coach as needed on stand downs and local and national emergency calls which may require periods of time away from home.

Qualifications:
There is no specific length of specialized experience required; however, applicants must show competence in the following rating factors to be able to perform the duties of the position. The rating factors are as follows:
Element 1: Ability to do the work of a Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision. (Screen-out).
Element 86A : Ability to drive motor vehicles safely.
Element 6A : Skill in the operation of appropriate vehicles.
Element 25A & 75C : Knowledge related to operation of appropriate vehicles (loading techniques).
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence of specialized experience which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position, must be supported by detailed descriptions of your experience on your resume or OF-612. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C (www.opm.gov/qualifications/x-118c).
SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. The potential eligibles are then rated against the remainder of the questions.
