Senior Accountant

Classification: Accountant - Public

Compensation: DOE

Management Resources has partnered with one of its VT clients in search of a Senior Accountant on a long-term contract basis.

This position reports to the companys Controller and is responsible for all monthly and annual account closings, financial statement analysis, preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow requirements, and corporate consolidations.
Must Have Demonstrated Experience with:
Preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end and year-end closings;
Preparation of weekly and monthly cash-flow (requirements) reports to management;
Perform month-end and year-end closing processes;
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
Management of the fixed asset process, including preparation of depreciation calculations;
Management of Sales and Use tax accounting and reporting process;
Work with the companys corporate accounting team to resolve issues;
Other ad-hoc responsibilities as needed
Required:
Bachelors degree or higher in accounting;
7 + years of accounting experience;
Solid understanding of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, banking, and inventory;
Good working knowledge of U.S. G.A.A.P. and willingness to research and resolve accounting problems;
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, to present alternatives, and make recommendations to management;
Flexible and able to perform effectively under high-pressure situations while maintaining focus;
Proficient with the use of ERP applications, Oracle preferred. Expert level user of Microsoft Excel.

Preferred (but not required):
Masters degree in accounting and/or certified public accountant.
Experience with franchise operations
