Director of Surgical and Outpatient Services at Burlington

Job Description

A hospital in northern New England is currently looking for a Director of Surgical and Outpatient Services. This is an executive leadership position for a registered nurse (RN). The hospital provides a warm, open relationship between management and staff, encouraging participation in decisions on patient care and policy. Position Focus

  • Responsible for the planning and comprehensive operations care in the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit and Ambulatory Service units.
  • Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and environmental and infection control standards.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinical managers, supervisors, and other members of the health care team to coordinate service activities between the hospital and physicians.
  • Develop and maintain the values, purpose, and goals that support a setting of shared decision making and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice.
  • Manage the administrative and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resource.
  • Oversees 3 state-of-the-art OR Suites, 16 bay- DSU and 2 procedure rooms.

Surgical Services:

Gastro-Intestinal Endoscopy, General Endoscopy Orthopedic, Outpatient, Ophthalmology, Day Surgery

Obstetrics/Gynecology, Urology, Otolaryngology, Podiatry and General Procedures

Job Requirements

Skills

  • Previous GI, OB/GYN, Ortho and PACU experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  

 

Requirements

 

  • BSN (Bachelor of Nursing) required, Masters Degree is preferred.
  • CNOR certification required.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of director level or management progressive leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of nursing experience in surgical/ambulatory services.
