Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL), the non-profit organization that operates Vermont’s statewide health information network, is seeking candidates for the following full time, permanent position:

Technical Support Specialist

We are looking for a candidate that demonstrates technical knowledge with a passion for service. The perfect candidate will be an innovative thinker with creative problem solving skills, excellent judgment, communication skills (both written and oral), and a sense of urgency to get the job done. This position is critical to ensuring that we provide exceptional customer service related to consistent, reliable, accurate, and timely data delivery. The candidate will need to quickly learn new software and technical skills. An ability to educate clients on technical topics, such as how information flows through the Vermont Health Information Exchange, will also be required. VITL is expanding its service offerings and needs to fill this position immediately to support that growth. The candidate will

• Provide client support and issue resolution via email, web based electronic media and phone
• Interact effectively with customers and vendors by building rapport and soliciting problem details
• Accurately document all service requests and issue resolution in help desk software system
• Manage incidents to closure
• Monitor alerts and interface services to ensure availability and uptime
• Function as Administrator of help desk software

 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of external customer technical support experience; be a confident, patient, and clear communicator with technical and non-technical customers via email, web based electronic media, and phone. Candidates familiar with the Health Care industry are highly preferred.
